WoW Upgrades - The Item Upgrader
Upgrades will give you a an increase in certain statistics. Each upgrade boosts the level of the item by +3. A random additional substat is also boosted alongside each upgrade.
Upgraded gear is generally more useful, unless the item has low requirements by nature (like FB sorc shields) or has a high variance in stats (like Eth Titan weapons). These types of gear get less value from upgrading due to the need to roll to get a perfect version.
Recycle Points
The item upgrader enables players to upgrade gear to a higher level by providing the appropriate currency to the NPC. Upgrades can be applied to any kind of weapon or armor. The item used to upgrade the item will be consumed and can't be used again. Upgrades can be used to create enchantments.
You can upgrade your gear anytime by visiting the upgrader in any major city. It is recommended to visit the upgrader once every few weeks to keep your equipment up-to-date.
The cost of upgrades will be based on the current level of the equipment being upgraded but they will always be less expensive than purchasing new gear from other sources. Upgrades like upgrading a Benthic chest to ilvl385 will cost you 20 recycle points. A similar item will cost you 105.
Valorstones
Upgrades are items that can be used to upgrade weapons, armor, tools and accessory upgrades. They can be bought by players through NPCs who sell upgrades for items in exchange for different currencies, and can also be found in random treasure lists. Once purchased, an upgrade can be applied to any weapon, tool, or armor. The button will show a preview of an item's next level of upgrade, if there are enough materials.
Upgrade costs vary depending on the slot for the item and the current level of the item. For example weapons cost more than bracers, or gloves. Each upgrade cost 15 Flightstones and a few crests, with some upgrades offering discounts to reduce the cost of Flightstones or the crests used. Once an item has been upgraded to a certain degree it is able to be degraded and returned to the upgrader for a lower amount of the two currencies.
Upgraders for items can be found in many places including the main island and some outposts. The NPCs offer both an upgrade coupon as well as the possibility of getting the latest recipe. The discount on upgrades increases when more items are upgraded. It can also be increased by having players complete certain achievements or quests.
Icewind Dale does not have an item upgrader at the start unlike Cromwell from Baldur's Gate II. The NPCs who are able to facilitate upgrades are available only through a variety means. This is both a benefit and an issue.
In Season 3, a number of new features were added to the upgrade system. After a player has earned an upgrade to a certain level for an item in an armor slot, upgrading additional items to the same level will cost less, even when they belong to a different gear set.

The discount is applicable to all accounts. The amount of Harbinger Crests needed for upgrades is also reduced and is not available until players reach certain achievement milestones.
Crests
When it comes to upgrading gear in WoW, players have a few choices. They can use Flightstones, which are a general upgrade currency available to everyone, or crests, which are more specialized and consumed during upgrades on specific levels of items. Crests are an essential part of the Dragonflight gear progression system, which was introduced in 10.1, and come in 4 ranks.
First, you must be aware that the crests can only be purchased for gear with a certain rank. Each rank has an upgrade path that is different. The simplest and simplest upgrade path costs 15 crests, while the most complicated can require as much as 20 crests, based on the kind of gear being upgraded.
Players can earn crests by completing content at the appropriate level. This could mean doing outdoor activities, or by doing dungeons or raids in all difficulties to get equipment of lower tier or Mythicbosses of raids or dungeons that have a high difficulty to obtain endgame gear. The crests can then be exchanged with an upgrader, such as Cuzolth or Vaskarn, in Valdrakken to upgrade the item in the proper steps and paths.
The new currency system isn't complicated to use, however it does bring some changes to the upgrade process. When a piece attains the highest level of upgrade for any rank (Explorer or Adventurer) it is no longer required to purchase Flightstones. This change lets players upgrade their equipment to the highest possible ilvl on all their characters instead of relying on seasonal loot.
upgrade item 's also crucial to choose crests wisely, as they are only used for one purpose. For instance, it's best to use all of your Whelpling-rank crests with the best gear you have available and then save Drake and Wyrm crests for the next round of upgrades you plan to create. This is particularly applicable to trinkets and rings that occupy multiple slots on the character, which can only be eligible to take advantage of the account-wide discount if all slots are full of high-quality gear.
